Friday's=Free Giveaway!

Hello Readers/Shoppers/Lovers and All~

I felt like playing up the blue in my eyes all this week and actually caught myself being rather boring by repeating the same make-up look three times this week! haha! Stop Judging.

I was able to do this using my mark Keep It Going Longwear Eyeliner & Shadow in Iconic.

1.) First I applied the Gold shade to only to the lower porting of my eyelid allowed for a softer, more subtle, look. Use your finger if you don't have a brush handy
::shadow is a cream::
(Right now* for $14, original value $17: you can get this @mark. eyeliner/shadow combo +PLUS a free application brush!)

2.) Lining my lower [inner] lashline with mark No Place to Run Longwear Eyeliner in White On highlights my eyes.
The intention of the white liner is to mimic the white of your eye and make your eyes appear wider and brighter.
3.) I then lightly brush mark No Place to Run Longwear Eyeliner in Jetset along my actual lash line, creating a clean, defined line.

4.) I applied one coat of mark Make It Big Lash Plumping Mascara in Raven to my upper lashes and one quick coat to my bottom lashes!

Midtown Madness

This weekend I had family come up from Ohio~ two of which had never been to New York before. After arriving at 4pm Friday Afternoon, we decided to grab some dinner at Bravo!Nader in Huntington Village and catch a movie. We ended up seeing "Bad Teacher" with Cameron Diaz. It was hysterical! I would absolutely see it again.

Justin Timberlakes character was so over the top at times I could not control my laughter. He was like an innocent nerd-closet freak and it was great!
:Sympatico-Erotico: See the movie and you will TOTALLY get that!

Anywho.... Saturday we went over to the Deer Park outlet mall where I LOADED UP on all things Bath and Body Works, checked out the Juicy Couture and Betsy Johnstore stores and a few other decent sales.

That evening, we had gotten tickets to see a little off-broadway comedy musical at the Ha! Comedy Club off of 46th and 7th Avenue.
It was filled with adult woman humor about sex, love, lust, marriage, divorce, menopause, babies, eating,NOTeating, being bitchy and celebrating all things woman!

My younger cousins were there for the show, but I think it was a little too adult for them. However, Mom and I laughed our butts off!
If it travels- it is definitely something you and your girlfriends should go see! (Bachelorette parties!!!!!)

After the show, we decided to partake in a bit of tourism & showed my younger cousins around Times Square and 42nd Street. We went to the Barbie Dream House inside of the giant Toys R' Us, followed by a trip to the M&M store & Ripley's Believe it or Not. We also made a pitstop at FOREVER 21 and I found some adorable jewelry and a summer hat that were all to die for..

Retro Owl Necklace, Forever 21 ($3)

Owl Peeper Earrings from Forever 21

I have a small obsession with Owl jewelry:)

Summer Hat from Forever 21 ($10.80)
Seeing as the top of my head ALWAYS gets sunburned when I go to the beach, park, etc. I got this abnoxiously large hat and I love it!

#1 reason to go and not to go to Manhattan:
Great deals----Great deals then lead to excessive money spending!!

Who else loses their self control to a good sale???

Yellow Kitty!

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend with their papas~!
Mine is in Ohio but lots of love sent their way on Fathers Day!!!

So now that we are closing the gap and approaching::officially:: Summer- I wanted to try out some new yellow polish.

I kept seeing commercials for the Sally Hansen Salon Manicur polish, whichh is supposed to have it all!  Base coat- strengthener, nail growth treatment, color and top coat! ::phew!::

So I picked some up at Walgreens:)

I love to put a little fun into my nails and tend to always do some sort of nail art.
I used my MatteElite in Solid Silver and did straight stripes and diagnal stripes on all of my fingers.

Love the Yellow too! It's called YELLOW KITTY ::too cute!::

I think that yellow and gold are going to be big colors for me this summer as I embrace lighter colors and jewel tones.
I am fully obsessed with some of the top designers summer collections.
Dolce & Gabbana

I love roses and I love yellow and golds together. D&G has definitely got it right with these summer dresses!
What do you think??

Rodarte

As a summer baby, I fully appreciate some of the mellow-ness in the Spring/Summer 2011 Rodarte line. Incorporating [what I see as] a taste of the 1960's and early 1970's into these looks is definitely interesting. The shoes are killer and I want them SO bad! Plus i sort of love the little cuff on the arm!

Victoria Beckham
The bold shade of purple used in the Victoria Beckham frock is GORGEOUS! I cannot get enough!

The summer lines are killing it and I cannot wait to go shopping!

As you can see in the photo- my nails are GREEN! and  I am so-so-soooooooo obsessed!

1. Apply one coat of Sinful Colors in Mint Apple and let dry.
2. Select two or three nails to apply your OPI- suttle yet fabulous- Glitter shade " Last Friday Night".
3. Apply one or two coats[ depending on how much you like glitter]. I applied one coat since I was in a hurry.
____________________________________

Now the toesies.

1.)  Applying two coats of Revlon in Gold Get 'Em-let polish try after each coat.
2.) Using the super thin brush of  Matte Elite Nail Art Polish in SILVER, line the very top of the toe nail. The brush allows for an excellent line
(and since its glitter, even if you have a shakey hand- it will still look nice!)

Polish Perfection: White On! Wednesday!

So I started this morning off with my cat running outside and me chasing  looking for him around the neighborhood... So I am definitely in an "iffy" mood.

On a positive note, my nails look awesome! I went to the store last night and got some new polishes because I love to do nail art.. I tend to stick to similar designs because I am still learning more techniques, but it is so much fun regardless.

Using my Sally Hansen- XTreme Hard as Nails in White On, Sinful Colors Nail Art polishes in Sunny Day and Me First and also Matte Elite Nail Art polish in Silver[purchased at Ricky's Beauty Supply]. I finished my nails with Revlon Super Speed Dry Clear Top Coat.

To Get This Look:

1.) Apply one coat of Sally Hansen XTreme Hard As Nails in White On
2.) Once dried, apply an additional ::light:: coat of White On
3.) Once White On is completely dry, begin with your colors. I chose to start with Sunny Day ::Pink Shade of Sinful Colors Nail Art Polish:: Begin from the cuticle or outter edge of the nail and sweep the brush in one stroke in a swirled motion. This will allow the tip of the line to be thin and curled.
4.) Repeat this sweeping method with Me First by Sinful Colors and then Silver by Matte Elite.
5.) Apply a second stroke of Me First::Yellow:: to deepen your color.
It goes on VERY light
6.) Once polish design is dry, finish with Revlon's Super Speed Dry top coat.

Tip::  test whether your nails are dry by running water over one fingernail-- if the water beads off, you are essentially dry. If it bubbles, but does not bead off- let them dry further)
_____________________________

I highly recommend a manicure corrector pen [Sally Hansen or any other brand that can be found a CVS/Walgreens/Sally's Beauty Supply/Ricky's, etc.]

I didn't have any left but am picking one up after work today...

If you dont want to spend the $6-7 on one, use a cotton swab soaked with polish remover, or the corner of a paper towel[also soaked with polish remover].

Happy Nail Polishing!

Memorial[Day] Weekend Madness

Memorial [Day] weekend!

Hellooooo **::Summer::** Kick-Off!!!

I started it off by going to the Huntington fair with my friends! Reminded me of " Old Fashioned Days" in my hometown, only it was much smaller... We went on this ride " Gravitron" and I was so sure I was going to be sick after spinning round and round and round.. I closed my eyes 3/4 of the time, but still felt dizzy when I finally stood up. It was....need.I.Say... interesting.
____________________________________________________

Friday, we had a short work day and I actually went straight from work to KMart to pick up this book Crescendo which is the Second in a series of 3 books by Becca Fitzpatrick. The first book Hush Hush was too cute! Similar to the Twilight saga about forbidden love and other-worldly beings...This is about a fallen angel and a girl with a mysterious past -and unbeknownst to her- a mythical bloodline. My typical "soap opera" fairytale...

 I can't get enough!
_______________________________________________________________
Anywho...
Saturday, I went to the airshow for the first time at Jones Beach.. I got a SERIOUS sunburn but had a lot of fun! The para-shoot jumper guys jumped into the ocean and swam up shore. We got to meet and take photos with them which was so awesome! Great guys, saving lives;)

It was definitely an awesome experience and I am absolutely going again next year! If you are near Jones Beach--my recommendation is to check it out!

Sunday I decided I would make a cake and do my nails so that my sunburn and I could recover. haha! Yeah Riiight*
I decided to make a marble cake with cream cheese (Miss Betty Crocker) frosting!

Marble[Layer] Cake Recipe

2 sticks butter (8 ounces)       2 cups sugar

1 ¼ teaspoons vanilla              4 eggs

2 ½ cups plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour       6 tablespoons cornstarch

1 tablespoon baking powder                ½ teaspoon salt            1 cup milk

3 ounces semi-sweet or bittersweet chocolate, chopped
(I USED HOT CHOCOLATE MIX lol)

Follow these directions to a "T"

1. Using an electric mixer beat butter and sugar at high speed until lighter in color and fluffy.

2. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition

3. Sift the flour, cornstarch, baking powder and salt on to a piece of parchment.

4. Mix the milk and vanilla together.

5. Add the dry ingredients and wet ingredients alternately to the batter, ending with the dry ingredients.

6. Divide the batter evenly into two bowls and mix the melted, choped chocolate into one.
7. Spoon vanilla then chocolate batter into the prepared pan, alternating the colors all around the pan.  ( Or if you opt to use cocoa like I did - sift some over the top of the cake batter evenly)

8.Use a knife to gently swirl the two colors of batter together to get the marbelized effect. Don't over do it!

9. Bake for 35-40 minutes.  I checked on mine every ten minutes to see how it set.

10.cool the cake in the pan for about 15 minutes then turn out of the pan on to a wire rack to cool completely.

        ___________________________________________________________________________________

:: TIP:: I found it helpful to flip the pan and tap at it with my spatula. This helped to loosen the bottom of the cake from the pan for easier separation. ::

Once the cake is cool to the touch, frost and slice!

Take the easy route and pick up a box of Betty Crocker Marble- Cake Mix! Saves a lot of time!

Now-- I've seen all these advertisements for the new Crackle/Shatter nailpolish by OPI and China Glaze so I had to test it out... Needless to say, I love it!

Using my SUPER SHINE Top Coat by Sally Hansen, Black Shatter Nail Polish by China Glaze and my Top Speed [Quick-Dry]Polish by Revlon in Lilac~ I couldn't stop staring at my nails.  The girl at the PetStore even complimented them..

Still have to get used to the technique of applying the shatter polish, but I think it came out pretty nicely for my first time:)
Yay me!

               _________________________________________________

To match my nails- I used my i.Mark Shadow selections in Glitterati, Fairy Dust and Plum Velvet[my favorite shade!)

Using mark. Get in Line Hookup Liquid Waterproof Eyeliner, I lined from the inner to outtermost point of my eye lid coming to a small point at the end. This allows for a more almond- look to the eye and also blends nicely with my lashes.

and with the weather being so ridiculously warm lately, I decided to wear my mark. It's a Long Story dress..

My friend, also a mark. rep, said that this dress looks good on anyone and I was skeptical.. Then I bought it and realized she was COMPLETELY right!

You can find all of these mark. Products at my eBoutique...
